As a manufacturer of PPE, we deal with an assortment of regulators and compliance officials, supply chain professionals, and business owners. They, rightfully so, ask us a lot of questions before they make a purchase. We thought we would turn that insight onto you.
If you are on the hunt for quality PPE, here are the top 5 questions you should be asking:
- Specs: What are the specs of the product? – How thick are the face shields? Are there multiple thickness options? Does the face shield wrap around to cover the side of the face? Does the face shield go below the chin? You can never ask too many questions.
- Legit: Does the company you are buying from have legitimate clients in the health care industry. The thought here is if hospitals are clients and trust them, you can be sure the product is vetted and reliable.
- Comfort: Are they comfortable and easily adjustable? The reality is people have to wear these shields for hours on end, and they need to fit right to be effective.
- Shipping & Assembly: How are they shipped and are they easy to assemble.
Shipping flat is ideal as you can get up to 300 in a compact box. Nice serrated edges can lend to quick and easy assembly.
Attentiveness: You want a company that responds quickly and is helpful when you ask questions. If an email or phone call goes answered promptly, move on, it’s probably a red flag that the rest of the process will go the same way!
Be safe out there, and let us know if you have any questions.
Initially developed in collaboration with healthcare professionals to fill emergency requests for PPE because of COVID-19, Franzen Graphics developed designs and began producing equipment to fill emergency needs. We shipped over 200,000 shields to hospitals around the United States, including HSHS Hospital Systems, Mount Sinai in NYC, and many others.
As all businesses begin to become essential and open up, we are happy to make these available to everyone. We have innovated many products from hard hat shields to disposable eye protection to our original flat design face-shield. Studies show many Coronavirus infections occur through the eyes. All our products can help prevent eye transmission and infection. Additionally, Face Shields help prolong the life span of sparse face masks from infection.
Franzen Graphics is based in Sheboygan, WI, and services the entire USA.
